John has been traveling the world with his kiteboarding gear and a backpack for about 4 years.  He has made an art of backpacking with his kiteboard gear all over the world and shares with us two of his favorite countries to practice adventuring in; Vietnam and Philippines.  These two countries have the ingredients that make up a tasty trip; food, awesome wind, cool local's, sun and tons of outdoor activities.

Next blog I will focus on my best tips for backpacking/traveling with kite gear.

Great to read. If you have a tip which climb harnass to use on a world trip for kiting, that would be great.

Hello!! Great question.. Well it really depends on if you want a seat harness or a waist harness. But I would say there is no "travel" harness available, it is more just using a normal harness that is comfortable for you and that fits you well, doesn't cause any pain, rubbing issues, etc. I use a 5 year old harness and this year I will be updated it to a new one. As the padding around the back side is compressed and is now causing back pain. Before you buy I would recommend doing a few things. Put the harness on in the store and see if they have a rope or bar to hang from or lean back on with all your weight, while the harness is on. Or ask to test the harness as a demo while kiting. That way you can see if it will fit you without any pain or areas that have potential for rubbing against your skin. For women, the typical problem is pain in the back and if the harness will rise up to your chest, causing pain too. So, please keep both those things in your mind when trying it out. Hope this helps!!
